So, I'm starting my new years resolution a month late... But better late than never, right?!
I'm the type of person that's either all in or all out. So when I decided to start my new healthy living lifestyle, I was all in. Diet & working out included!
My leggings are Lululemon, which can be expensive, but my favorite part about them is the "wonder under".... Basically a tummy band that helps you suck it all in. HELLO! I want a pair for each day of the week!!!
Also, my water bottle literally keeps ice in it forever! Like ever and ever. I'll fill it up i the afternoon, and it'll still have ice in it the next morning! Love it!
My headphones are Beats, and I love them! I got them for studying, but they've come in real handy when working out. I'm wayyy out of shape, so I breathe really heavily. I HATE hearing myself breathe like that, and these blocks out all the noise!

Here are 5 ways to be healthy:
1. Diet
The "diet" that I decided to stick to, is called the "21 Day Fix" by BeachBody!
What it is, is more of a lifestyle, than a diet. It's portion control based, and helps you create those healthy habits after 21 days. Three weeks is all you need to make a habit, and this is exactly what it does!
An example of my daily diet is:
- 4 servings of protien
- 3 servings of veggies
- 2 servings of fruit
- 2 servings of carbs
- 1 serving of a healthy fat
The first few days to a week take a little getting use to, because for me, I'm not use to portion controlling myself! I usually eat a bag of chips that has 17 servings, in one sitting...
2. Working Out
I have a love / hate relationship with working out. I love going to a workout class, because someone is telling me what to do, but if I go to the gym by myself, normally I'll walk on the treadmill long enough to break a sweat, and tell myself I've done a good job for the day.
Find yourself a workout buddy! Usually people are just like you, and want to workout with someone rather than themselves. Typically it's pretty easy to find a partner! Keep each other accountable, and make it a competition.
3. Find a Buddy
Like I said above, it's so much easier to go through the process with someone else, rather than doing it alone, just like anything.. Making this a competition between people, is a constant motivation. You can keep each other accountable for your eating decisions, your workouts, and everything else involved. And, you'll have someone to workout with you!
4. Find Your Motivation
What are you getting healthy for? Do you have a trip coming up? Or maybe you want to fit in those jeans that fit last summer? Maybe you're like me and spring break is right around the corner?
Whatever it is, choose something and you'll have a constant reminder.
5. Make Goals & Treat Yourself
Being healthy doesn't have to be boring. One of my favorite things about working out is that I get to wear cute workout clothes! Set practical goals for yourself, and once you reach those, reward yourself. Maybe you need to start out with a new pair of tennis shoes to get you going, and then reward yourself with a new pair of leggings, maybe a new tank, or maybe even something that doesn't even deal with your workout. Do you need a mani? Lose 5 pounds and get a mani. Whatever it may be, give yourself something to look forward to!
Being healthy and working out shouldn't be a chore, shouldn't be boring, and shouldn't be difficult. Once you get in the mindset of making healthy decisions, you'll wonder why you've never done it before.
I hope this sparks something in you get be your healthiest self!
Xoxo,
