Dressin' up a Sweater

I love me an over-sized sweater. Why? Well, why not? They don't show your booty in leggings. They hide the tummy. And they are super comfy! They're an all over win!

How can you get away with wearing an over-sized sweater to work, or to dinner, or even a party?
Throw on some leather leggings, some booties, and you are ready! This is such an easy transitional outfit! You can wear flats during the day, change into heels for the evening & do a bolder lip for the evening! Of course you can always add more jewels!

If you can't tell, this season one of my favorite pieces, is leather leggings! These babies can dress anything up & make you look like you are ready to conquer those holiday parties! What's so great, is that this key piece, can be paired with so many tops, that you can create dozens and dozens of looks, revolving these same bottoms, every time! No one will know you are wearing the same bottoms, because they are such a basic color, they allow for your top & accessories to do the talking! I just wear to a tacky Christmas sweater party, and had my roommate wear her leather leggings, she got so many compliments, while wearing the ugliest sweater, because her bottoms were adorable. I loved the look: tacky top, but I don't care, I'll wear my fancy pants & pull that snowman sweater off!

Five ways to wear leather leggings:

To work.
Christmas party.
NYE.
Date night.
ANY WHERE & EVERY WHERE!!

PS. Can you tell that I am 100%, completely obsessed with coffee? I love it, and cute coffee mugs. Especially when someone makes a pretty design... Caramel Macchiato is my go to!

Here I've linked some very affordable leather leggings.

Note: I prefer my Lysse leggings, because they are such great quality & they have a tummy control band! Almost like built in Spanx, but this band is so comfy, and isn't as tight! Lysse are my favorite leggings, because the quality is so great! I've never had a problem with them! And I wear my leggings almost every day, so I've gone through my fair share of cheap leggings!

VIONIC

Casual, work, winter look.
Gray & black & a little bit of leather. Pop of red. & Ready to go!

These leggings are some of my favorites! Mostly cloth, but on the side just a tad bit of leather to dress up an outfit to the next notch. This top- I've had it for a while, but I haven't had the chance to wear it. I love how flowy it is- perfect for this holiday season to hide all the yummy treats I keep eating! Especially during finals, I'll be relying on caffeine and sugar to keep me going!

Have you ever heard of Vionic shoes? I hadn't either until recently! They are some of the comfiest shoes that I have ever put on my feet! I would highly recommend these shoes for anyone who is on their feet a lot, walking around but still wanting to look cute, or just loves comfy shoes in general! These flats are so cute, and I love the little bit of glitz they have to spice up an outfit! They also have some super cute moccasin house shoes that look oh so comfy!

This look is something you can easily recreate! Black leggings? Oversized flowy top? A little glitzy jewelry to spice it up. BAM! You got it. And this could easily be paired with other shoes to take it from day time to night time!

Inexpensive AND Quality is the BEST combo!

We all love a good steal, and we all love a quality piece.
What's wrong with mixing?! NOTHING!

Are you a quality or a quantity person? Why can't you be both?! You can!

This outfit, I paired quality and quantity together. Majority being inexpensive items, but throwing in quality pieces here & there completes it. This swing dress? I think I paid roughly $12, shipped.... But would you have ever guessed that? You can get away with "cheap" aka inexpensive items by pairing them the right way. My bag, which is my new backpack (reversible...), is from Target (the mother land) and I scored it on sale for $22! Scarf? Target also... Sorry y'all, I am such a sucker for Target. My scarf I also scored on sale for $12! But, my boots & leggings, and accessories are all quality pieces that draw the outfit together.

Also- changing the way you accessorize can totally change the feel of the look. I paired a blanket scarf with this swing dress for a daytime look, but if I were going out to dinner or needed something a little dressier, I would play it up with jewelry, and put on some black OTK boots, or booties, or even flats!

So, I have found a new website that quite possible may get me in trouble... But I'm just saving money, one purchase at a time... SheIn is the website.
It's where I got this swing dress: $9.99 Grey Swing Dress

Bracelet: Chloe & Isabel- Brooke Broadus

Necklace: Everlasting Joy Jewelry

$20 Vest + $20 Tee = Pure Joy.

What the heck? A $20 fur vest? A $20 top? Who? What? Where?

Let me just say, I had SO much fun taking pictures over the break! Two sweet, precious girls from my hometown took my pictures & I had so much fun with them. Might I add, these pictures are quite impressive! Two eighth graders know more about photography than I do... I need to step up my game! They researched shooting fashion bloggers, good poses, and I cannot wait for you to see all the photos I left with! Stunning!! Thanks girls!!

So... This navy fur vest (that I may have purchased in burgundy also...), I got it on sale at Target, for $20! And it's actually still on sale for $23!! (Target's Cartwheel app has become my new best friend. I don't care if I'm saving 75% or 5%, I'm saving & that's all that matters, right?) You'll be seeing more of these vests. I'm slightly obsessed. This top- from a boutique in my hometown, but I've linked several! I love shopping local- pieces that not everyone can get, so it's not seen everywhere! I'm a sucker for tunics anyways, I usually pair this one with leggings!!

My favorite thing about this vest is how light weight it is. I seem to have an obsession with fur vests, but all of my others are so heavy and thick. This vest is fur front, but sweater back, so it's not thick to sit against, and it's not heavy to wear around. I always seem to bundle up in the cold, and be freezing, then walk into a building and start shedding all my layers because they have the heat up so high! It's crazy!! Another plus with this vest is that you can pair it with a tee like I did, or you can dress it up with a swing dress. I actually wore this vest with a hunter green top while I was home, and it was actually super cute together. Hard to picture, but it was. There are so many options & this is something perfect for this upcoming holiday season!
